Cameron Honey to join leading theatre and live entertainment company.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (Monday 23 August 2021) – Today, Michael Cassel Group announced the appointment of Cameron Honey as its first Chief Operating Officer. Cameron will report to Michael Cassel, Chief Executive Officer and Producer. Cameron brings a wealth of live entertainment and commercial expertise to the company, having recently served as General Manager, Commercial at Venues NSW (formerly Sydney Cricket Ground Trust).

In this newly created position, Cameron will have dual operational and financial responsibilities with direct responsibility for strategic planning as well as management of the finance and business affairs departments, along with human resources and controllership functions.

“Cameron is an experienced, talented and versatile executive. His proven ability and his successful career to date make him an ideal Chief Operating Officer, supporting the evolution of our business,” Michael Cassel said.

Whilst we continue to navigate the immediate challenges of COVID on the live entertainment industry, we are firmly focussed on the future with both our existing slate of shows, the expansion of our international footprint and the development of a number of new theatrical titles for the stage” added Michael.

Cameron commenced his career as a lawyer and chartered accountant practicing as an M&A, tax and private equity advisor at PwC and KPMG in Australia and the UK. Previous roles include Chief Commercial Officer at A-League side Sydney FC and leading commercial development at Football Federation Australia (now Football Australia), as well as holding an honorary role at Big Bash League team Sydney Sixers, before taking on his prior role at Venues NSW.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice as well as a Bachelor of Business, with Accounting Major, from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

Cameron currently serves on the Board of Carriageworks, the largest multi-arts centre in Australia, and is member of the Industry Advisory Board for the University Campus of Football Business’ (UCFB) Global Institute of Sport (GIS) based in the UK.

With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, New York and Singapore, Cameron will be based in Sydney.
